A Message From Our Interim CEO

By |January 23rd, 2026|

Happy New Year and the kickoff to National Mentoring Month!

Having started just two short months ago, I am simply amazed at the passion and dedication of our staff and volunteer board of directors. Thank you all for your wonderful support. During the leadership transition here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle my purpose is simple – to continue to support our mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. I am excited about the new year and our efforts to continue to expand our reach across the Triangle!

To our donors – THANK YOU! Truly…with your support we are improving the power and promise of our youth.

As we move into National Mentoring Month, igniting our youth starts with little moments that lead to big change. A BIG thank you to all our volunteer mentors, past and present, who have dedicated their time to walk alongside young people and empower them to achieve their full potential. Be a force multiplier by challenging others to support the next generation and find out how to be a big at https://bigstri.org/. Share your mentoring story using #BeBig and inspire others to get involved.

Triangle Men – we especially need you. Journalist Katie Couric spoke with Scott Galloway about his new book, Notes on Being A Man. Although not unique to North Carolina, or here in the Triangle – we DO have a need for more male mentors. Reach out to us if you or someone you know is interested in giving a Little of their time to be Big.

Here’s to a 2026 where we continue to help the youth of our community. Happy New Year.

September 2025

Dear Friends,

We are just nine days away from our 25th Anniversary Celebration, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone with our community! This evening will honor the powerful relationships that define Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and the impact we’ve made together over the past 25 years.

 Meet Our Match Ambassadors

We are proud to announce that our 2025 Big and Little Ambassadors are Will and Jacob. They will take the stage on Friday, September 26th to share their inspiring journey. Their story reflects the heart of our mission: when youth are matched with caring mentors, confidence grows, opportunities open, and futures shine brighter. If you’re not able to attend the 25th Anniversary Celebration, you will still be able to read their story — the Digital Event Program will be shared in a special newsletter next week.

2025 Bowl For Kids’ Sake Event as Batman and Alfred

This September, we join our national network in celebrating Big Brothers Big Sisters Month. This is a time to honor the mentors who ignite potential and the supporters who make our mission possible. What better way to mark this month than by gathering for our 25th Anniversary Gala? Together, we are not only celebrating the past 25 years of mentorship in the Triangle, but also recommitting to the next 25 and beyond.
