Director of Development

By |January 11th, 2022|

For more than 20 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle (BBBST) has been defending the potential of future leaders in the community by matching at-risk youth (Littles) with committed adult mentors (Bigs). BBBST seeks a Director of Development (DOD) to lead and cultivate the implementation of a diversified, integrated fundraising strategy for the agency, building community support to further the vision of the organization. Key experience should include developing innovative initiatives that drive fundraising growth, adaptability, and sustainability; and leading and managing a growing, professional development team. Annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake–Back in 2022!

By |January 10th, 2022|

What is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is one of our largest community events that we hold each year to raise money to match more children facing adversity with mentors who serve as friends and positive role models.  The bowling event is held at AMF South Hills in Cary.  Our event will take place on April 2nd, 2022.  Friends, colleagues, and family members form Bowl for Kids’ Sake teams and ask others to sponsor their participation with donations. Teams are comprised of four to five bowlers who raise a minimum of $500 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle.  Corporate sponsors come together with teams from their companies, giving their employees the chance to compete against each other, raise money and make the event a great financial success.  Teams enjoy Bowl for Kids’ Sake FUN – free bowling, prizes, team photos, and give-a-ways!

Who can participate?

Everyone! Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a family-friendly event open to all ages. Individuals and groups representing companies, schools, clubs, professional and civic organizations all create teams and participate in Bowl for Kids’ Sake.   No bowling experience is required!  We just have fun and fellowship, knowing that we are helping children across the Triangle just by our participation.

Where does the money go?
All funds raised through Bowl for Kids’ Sake fund our agency in order to provide more local children with mentoring relationships that are proven to help them succeed in school, avoid harmful behaviors, and reach their full potential.

Where do I sign up?

Give monthly and fuel our mission nonstop. You’ve helped us make incredible advances, but our goal is to change lives for the better, forever.
There are an estimated 342,069 children living at or below the federal poverty level in Wake, Durham and Orange Counties. 64% of these children live in a single parent home. Although these youth may experience obstacles on a regular basis, they do not lack the ability to overcome those obstacles and reach their full potential. They’re relying on us to accelerate life-changing experiences that will empower them to change their future and to live their best lives. Your monthly support will help us do whatever it takes to make that happen. Thank you.
