Mentoring Children of Prisoners

It takes a special heart to mentor children with incarcerated parents. Big Brothers and Sisters in the Mentoring Children of Prisoners program receive additional training and support. Fill in the gap by being present, dependable and committed to helping these children flourish in the midst of their parent(s) incarceration.

Building Blocks: Healthy Child Initiative

Building Blocks: Healthy Child Initiative, focuses on health within the match relationship.  On-going education, physical activities, and health screenings are provided to Bigs and Littles.  By offering an array of services, we hope to impact children in a comprehensive manner to ensure lasting positive impact.  Please visit our BIG Resource page to see some of our healthy living policies and for tips on where to go in the Triangle to be active.

All volunteers receive extensive screening and training from our Enrollment Specialists and Match Support Personnel. Each match is provided ongoing support. A careful process is followed to make a quality match between youth and the appropriate volunteer in order to promote long-term relationships.
